It's been difficult finding a mixing & mastering engineer that knows the genre enough and has enough talent to get the sound I'm after—all within my tight budget. Josh listened carefully to my input and requested a few reference tracks. I sent those to him and talked about what I liked about each one. Then, we went back and forth a few times on the mix, while Josh listened to my feedback and made sure he understood it before responding. I noticed I had sent some broken stems, and Josh was able to accept replacements mid-process. Then, in mastering, we only needed one round of feedback to get to the final that I am very happy with. Not only was it an enjoyable process, but it feels like a working relationship I can get into my workflow for ongoing tracks.
